Outdoor Painting Adventure

Today's forecast was calling for temps over 90 degrees, so we took advantage of the morning to play outside.  My sons favorite past time lately has been painting.  However, with a two year old it can get a little messy.  I set up a folding chair with a board to tape his paper to.
Up until today he has only painted with his fingers, feet, small cups (to make circles), and other random things i could find around the kitchen.  I realized today, that I don't have any paint brushes!  I noticed we had some chives that were flowering.  They made amazing paint brushes.  My son also soon pointed out that they really hold paint well.  As he demonstrated by flinging paint around.
Our wonderful cat, Chewy had to stop over to investigate as Camron stepped back to admire his work.  I just love watching the gears turn as he thinks things over.  I snagged some fruit dividers that I've been cutting apart to hold his paint.  Makes for easy clean ups.
This idea I picked up from Making Boys Men.  Paper with a few drops of paint and let them swat away at it.  The back yard was full of laughs as he went crazy.  We will have to do this one again!

Here are our treasures from the day.  The clothes line worked great for speeding up the drying process!  With my little painter in the house we get lots of wonderful pictures.  Some of these I use as boarders for a photo of him while he is creating the painting.  They make for great grandparent gifts, or something for Daddy Dragon to stick in his toolbox at work!
